Privacy Policy for Minute Last Updated: February 15, 2026 1. Introduction This Privacy Policy describes how Minute ("we", "our", or "the App") handles your data. Minute is a meeting transcription and summarization application developed by Robert Holst (roblibob). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data remains under your control. 2. Data Collection and Processing Minute is designed as a "Local-First" and "Offline" application. - No Cloud Processing: All audio processing, transcription, and AI summarization (inference) are performed locally on your device using your Mac's Apple Silicon Neural Engine. - No Data Transmission: We do not transmit your meetings, audio, video, transcripts, or summaries to any external server. Your private data never leaves your device. - Model Downloads: The App may require an internet connection solely for the purpose of downloading the necessary AI models (e.g., Whisper, Llama) required for the App to function. Once downloaded, the App can function entirely offline. 3. Device Permissions To provide its core functionality, Minute requires access to specific hardware and system features. These permissions are used strictly for the purposes described below: - Microphone Access: Required to record your voice during meetings or for voice memos. - System Audio Recording: Required to capture audio from other participants in calls (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Discord). - Screen Recording / Accessibility: Required only if you enable "Vision-Enhanced Context." This allows the App to capture snapshots of your screen to provide context for the AI summarizer (e.g., identifying charts or code blocks discussed). - File System Access: Required to save your transcripts, summaries, and audio files directly to your chosen local folder (e.g., your Obsidian Vault). 4. Data Storage All data generated by Minute—including audio recordings, video snapshots, and text transcripts—is stored locally on your Mac in the directories you specify. We do not have access to this data, and we do not store backups of it on our servers. 5. Third-Party Services Minute does not integrate with third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or advertising networks. The App uses open-source models and libraries (such as Fluidaudio/Parakeet) that run locally on your machine. 6. Children’s Privacy Minute does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children. As the App operates offline and stores data locally, we do not maintain a user database. 7. Changes to This Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. 8.
